Vélosud: difficulty, duration and preparation
Is Vélosud difficult? How many days does it take? Can it be done on a VAE? Here are the answers.

The Vélosud is not flat, but it is still very accessible.
Expect:
- 300 to 600 m of D+ per day
- some small coastlines typical of Piedmont
- very quiet and safe roads
Perfect for a first bike tour.
🕒 How many days?
According to the sections:
- Foix → Barcares: 4 days by bike (our Belle Allure stay)
- Full Atlantic—Mediterranean itinerary: 7 to 10 days
🚲 What bike?
- Gravel: perfect
- VTC: ideal
- VAE: very recommended for a comfortable stay
🎒 Preparation
- 40—60 km per day is sufficient
- a small bag or luggage transport (included in our package)
- important hydration in Aude and the Pyrénées Orientales
