Vélosud - the itinerary guide
📍 Starting point: the Basque Country
The Vélosud starts in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in connection with the V81 and the Scandibérique. The exact point is still evolving according to the arrangements, but the official idea is: Start in the western Pyrenean foothills, then follow the entire chain to the east.
📍 Arrival point: the Mediterranean, between Barcarès and Perpignan
The Vélosud ends on the Catalan coast. Several possible arrivals:
- Barcarès
- Canet-en-Roussillon
- perpignan
It is this gentle arrival on the sea that has made the itinerary famous.
🚴 The most popular portion: Foix → Mediterranean
The section Foix — Mirepoix — Couiza — St Paul de Fenouillet — Barcarès is the most popular today (we may not be very objective...). It is also the one that Belle Allure offers in a structured stay!
